Nanotechnologie: Kam by nás měly dovést? Máte slovo

Vzdělávání

Nanopinion has worked with scientists and teachers to develop teaching and educational materials as follows:

Mini-courses

Nanopinion has developed 3 e-learning mini-courses for high school students and the general public which have been built on an interactive platform and include videos, animations, quizzes, and other multimedia tools. Each mini-course contains modular learning units based on nanotechnological solutions to daily problems.

The mini-courses and the learning units are structured around the following contents:

Nano outdoors

  • Improved sport gear
  • nano coatings
  • Solar panels

Nano Indoors

  • Air filters and purifiers
  • Flexible electronics
  • Food Sensors

Nano inside Us

  • Tissue engineering
  • Drug delivery & Diagnostic devices

2 Short videos on current nano research

nanOpinion, will produce two 5-minutes videos that show some distinctive nanoscience research currently being done at iNANO, a nanoscience research center in Denmark.

2 hands-on nanotechnology experiments for teaching labs

nanOpinion will develop two simple laboratory experiments that can be performed in a teaching laboratory (for schools and science centres). They will show some aspects of nanoscience applied to specific applications, like nanomedicine. Teacher documentation and student laboratory worksheets will be provided for each experiment.

Virtual experiment

nanOpinion will develop a virtual “Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM)” experiment based on research being performed currently. The experiment will allow students to “use” an STM in a virtual mode!

Teachers training kit

A training kit for teachers with presentations and background materials is being prepared.

Network of teachers and schools from 15 different EU countries

NanOpinion works with a network of Teachers Coordinators running educational activities on nanotechnologies and offers them a training program. This program aims to promote education and dialogue on nanotechnologies in schools in Europe. It also aims to collect the opinion of teachers on the benefits and barriers for educational institutions in taking up Nanotechnology as a topic and to get feedback on the educational tools that the NanOpinion platform offers. These school outreach activities are supported by 16 secondary school Teacher Coordinators in 15 different countries, who at the same time support other teachers willing to engage in this topic.

The programme offers online and face-to-face training courses around Europe and will be supported by a comprehensive teacher guide developed by European Schoolnet. The educational materials are designed for students aged 12-18 and the countries involved are: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Spain, Turkey and United Kingdom.

About nanopinion
